You must separate paragraphs with p tags. If you paste in unformatted text, click on toHTML to convert line breaks and paragraphs to HTML markup.
You can also click on WYSIWYG to edit your blog post entry in visual mode. There you can bold text by selecting it and clicking on Bold, etc.
